Yangon is the commercial capital of Myanmar, formerly Burma. It is an eclectic blend of pagodas, colonial architecture and bustling narrow inner city streets. The main attraction is the fantastic Shwedagon Paya, a huge, shimmering pagoda complex, which draws thousands of pilgrims and tourists annually. It is nearly 100 meters high and covered in over 70 tons of gold leaf. It is regarded to be of equal importance as the Taj Mahal!
