Noir Dinning in the Dark – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Out of the five senses, sight surely dominates. Take away sight and our other senses will emerge to interpret the world from another perspective. Smell becomes more subtle, things-to-do more acuter; hearing turns more sensitive and touch more delicate. And that is how the concept of ‘dining in the dark’ at Noir was born.
At Noir Dining in the Dark, everything is more than just a meal. Your experience begins in a pitch-black dining room where you will be guided and served by blind or visually impaired staff that has been specially trained to assist and reassure sighted guests who are in complete darkness.
Leave behind your mobile phone, cut off your connection with the outside world and let your 4 senses take you through the journey discovering the symphony of flavors. No selection of each dish as you normally do, at Noir Dining, you only choose between the East menu and the West menu and that is how this experience makes you feel so thrilled when you take a bite and have no idea what you are eating.
Enjoy food and talk in absolute darkness creates an ‘honest’ ambiance that helps eliminate any distance between people. With no other distractions around, it is a good opportunity to go all philosophical with your partner or kid.
